See Stories will lead a hybrid (mix of mostly asynchronous and some synchronous) teacher professional development course titled “Anchored Histories” in the Spring of 2024. The $350 course fee covers all course expenses including 3x500 level professional and continuing education credits through UAA’s PACE program. The course is designed for formal and non-formal Alaskan educators of 6th – 12th-grade students and is a virtual (synchronous classes will be hosted live on Zoom & asynchronous classes/ content through Teachable.com) three-credit 500-level professional development course through UAA’s PACE Program. Participating educators will receive support in engaging students in documentary filmmaking and how to use Library of Congress primary sources as well as local primary sources such as Elder interviews, artifacts, photos, and documents. Course Outline: -Tuesday, February 20th, 5 – 7 pm, virtual orientation -Thursday, March 14th, 5-7 pm, check-in -Wednesday, April 3rd, 5-7 pm, check-in/ editing -Wednesday, April 17th, 5-7 pm, check-in/ editing -Saturday, April 20th, 9 – 1 pm, culminating showcase REFUND POLICY *You will receive a 75% refund ($260) if you drop the class on or by March 22nd.
